Letters-to-the-Editor
Letters published that follow up a news story, an OpEd piece or
an editorial
frequently can add points of view or thoughts that might have been
skipped
over or just left out. And this is an important component of our
advocacy
and educational work.
To help facilitate your letter, we offer some general and specific
instructions.
Most publications will let you submit using your own e-mail and
many offer an
on-line form.
Every paper has its specific publishing criteria. In general, all
letters must be
brief, cover only one topic and be relevant to a current event.
In all cases you
must submit your full name, a physical address and a valid phone
number. The
publication will verify that it is your letter by calling you.
It is recommended that you use a word processing program to compose,
edit
and spell check your letter. When completed, copy and paste your
letter into
the publication submittal form or into your own e-mail..

We welcome letters on all issues of public concern. All are subject
to editing and condensation, and they can be published only with
the writer's true name. Only the writer's home community, rather
than the whole address, will be published. Letters must include
the writer's complete home address and daytime telephone number
for verification purposes. Please limit letters to 100 words. Letters
and columns that are submitted may be republished in digital and
other formats and retained in archives without compensation to the
author.

to the editor. Letters will be published on a space-available basis.
All letters must include the author¹s name and telephone number
for purposes of verification. All letters and guest editorials are
subject to editing for space and content.
It is our intention to publish all letters we receive, except those
that are libelous or are unsigned. Preference will be given to those
that are e-mailed.

Letters are published in the newspaper and on the Web site the
same day. To ensure access to a wide number of writers, we generally
limit the number of letters published by an individual to one a
month.
Letters should include your full name and an address or telephone
number for verification. Only the writer's name and home city will
be published. Letters must be less than 300 words.
We do not publish group e-mails, open letters, form letters or
third-party letters. Letters submitted may be used in print or digital
form in any publication offered by the Daily Breeze
