Internship Programs

Make a difference in transportation policy by joining our team!

If you are a college student, consider joining our team of interns at The Transit Coalition. As an active force in transportation policy, The Transit Coalition provides opportunities for students to participate in a meaningful and effective manner. As an intern, you will take part in gauging passenger behavior, identifying needs, and providing solutions to real-life transit problems. Additionally, you will meet face-to-face with top transportation officials to discuss current transportation policy in a meaningful, direct and educative fashion.   • CSUN Tiger Team - This group focuses on increasing bus and rail service in the San Fernando Valley.
  • We have also partnered with the CSUN Journalism Department to provide the following opportunities:

    Public Relations - The Transit Coalition, a grassroots, non-profit transportation advocacy, goods movement and land use planning organization, is looking for a motivated student to assist with public relations and marketing responsibilities. The intern should have good writing capabilities, good phone presence and be focused and organized. The job includes assisting the Executive Director, maintaining social media accounts, writing and distributing press releases, and tracking public relations stories. The hours are flexible for this position, and telecommuting is possible. This is an unpaid internship for college credit.     Writing - The Transit Coalition, a grassroots, non-profit transportation advocacy, goods movement and land use planning organization, is looking for a motivated student to assist with the journalism and communication responsibilities. The intern should have good writing capabilities, good phone presence and be focused and organized. The job includes assisting the Executive Director, tracking stories related to The Transit Coalition, interviewing and writing about current transportation issues in Southern California, maintaining social media accounts, and assisting with the monthly print newsletter and the weekly eNewsletter. The hours are flexible for this position, and telecommuting is possible. This is an unpaid internship for college credit.
